This week we've decided to look at....guess what.....vintage shops again!! If you've seen our Instagram post you would've seen that we promised you guys a part two, well here you go. Here at Green Hub Dublin, we're very interested in the latest fashions and trends, unfortunately the fashion industry causes a lot of environmental issues. In fact, the "United Nations Economic Commission in Europe" (UNECE, 2018) has stated that as much as 85% of textiles are thrown in the dump each year. Not only this, but fashion production represents 10% of carbon emissions, pollutes streams and rivers and dries up water. Due to this, we at Green Hub Dublin think that this deserves a second part, because we believe that we can all be fashionable AND sustainable at the same time. Vintage shops are a great way to look different and what better way to do this then knowing that you're saving the environment by being environmentally friendly? Here's our top list of some of the most adorable vintage shops in Dublin. Oh and let us know on social media if there's another "part two" you'd like to see.
Lucy's Lounge
This shop is only one minute away from "The Temple Bar Pub." Its exterior design stands out since it's painted in pink, yes pink, so you'll never miss this vintage shop when you head to Temple Bar. Even the interior has a lot of pink in it, it's almost like going inside "Barbie's Dreamhouse." Why not help the environment by buying some unique clothes in this shop? There's all sorts of different clothes here including dresses, hats, shirts and skirts. It's very girly but we've more vintage shops for our male audience in the list below.
You can visit them Saturday 12-5pm and Sunday 2-5pm
Monto
This is vintage shop is located in Stewart Hall and offers a wide range of clothes. It has new, second hand and retro clothes so there's so much to choose from for any occasion and event. Occasions like going out to meet your friends, a family dinner (it's almost Christmas) or just something cozy to wear around the house, this shop has it all. As it uses second hand and retro clothes, it's sustainable so you can wear their clothes happily knowing that you're playing your part in being eco-friendly.
You can visit them everyday 12-5:30pm!
Retro Shop
As the name suggests, this shop sells retro clothes and we mean really cool retro clothes. Their clothes are colourful, different and definitely a great way to express yourself. If you ever want to "blast in the past" by wearing 1950s inspired clothes and contribute your part of environmental sustainability, we totally recommend this shop. Or you can be just as sustainable by purchasing their clothes for as a Christmas or birthday gift for anyone who loves retro style clothes. The staff are really sweet, so follow their Instagram @retroshopdublin and you'll see Green Hub Dublin being thanked for featuring them!!!
You can visit them Monday - Thursday 10-6pm, Friday - Saturday 10-7pm, and Sunday 12-6pm!
